Introduction
Airthings has introduced a new feature on the Insights page of the Business Dashboard to help optimize heating and cooling systems, reducing energy waste in buildings. This feature analyzes various factors such as indoor and outdoor temperatures, sunlight, residual heat, and usage patterns to identify when heating or cooling systems can be turned off or reduced.
Below you find a demo of the "heating and cooling" feature*:
* The way to navigate to the "Energy Insights" has changed. Now, the menu item "Insights" opens a dropdown menu.
Energy Insights in the Dashboard
To go to the Energy Insights:
Go to the Buildings Page
Select a building to view its details.
Open the Insights tab and choose Energy.
The findings are classified into five categories:
Overheating outside opening hours: Indoor temperatures show that spaces are being heated outside of set opening hours.
Overheating on closed day: Spaces are being heated on days when the building is closed, such as weekends or holidays.
Overcooling outside opening hours: Indoor temperatures indicate that spaces are being cooled outside of set opening hours.
Overcooling on closed day: Spaces are being cooled on days when the building is closed, such as weekends or holidays.
Colder than 5°C/41°F: Indoor temperatures below 5°C/41°F are detected.
Important Considerations
These findings are based on collected data and do not provide specific ventilation recommendations. Facility managers or building owners should assess the building’s unique characteristics when reviewing this information to identify potential areas for energy optimization.
