How to add buildings, spaces and register devices in the dashboard

Updated over a month ago

To see the sensor data in the dashboard, you need to add your building(s) to your account. We recommend adding buildings and spaces in the dashboard and adding devices using the Business App.

Adding buildings to your account

To get started, you need to create your building(s). In the menu on the left, you go to Buildings.

If you haven't created a building yet or you want to create a new building, you can click on the button +Add building.

Click on one of the yellow buttons to add a building

Fill in all the required fields and save the building. We strongly recommend enabling Opening Hours as this info is necessary to generate reports and will provide a lot of info for insights. Once the building is created, you will see it on the Buildings page.

Adding Spaces

A Space is the room or area where you install a device to monitor Indoor Air Quality (IAQ). Typically, each Space will contain one device—for example, a device installed in a meeting room. However, it is possible to register up to three devices in a single Space. This is useful for larger areas, like open-plan offices, where multiple devices may be needed to ensure comprehensive monitoring.

If you haven't created Spaces yet you will see the screen below and you have two options to set up your Spaces:

  1. Upload a floor plan
Draw and create your Spaces directly on the floor plan for a more visual and organized setup.

  2. Add Spaces without a floor plan
Manually define your Spaces without needing a floor plan.

Adding Spaces from a floor plan

  • Click on Upload floor plan

  • Upload a floor plan image

  • Add the Floor and a Name

  • Click Add to save

  • Switch to the Floor plan view

  • Start drawing spaces

    • Draw a space on the floor plan image (you can edit the shape later).

    • Click on Create new space.

    • A pop-up window will appear asking for more Space details

    • (optional) Edit the shape by dragging corners.

    • Done! Repeat until the entire floor is mapped.

Below is an example of how to create a new Space from a floor plan:

Adding Spaces without a floor plan

On the screen below, click +Add Space

A pop-up window will appear asking for the following details:

  • Name

  • Floor

  • Room Type

  • Height

  • Area

  • Ventilation Zone

Fill in the fields and choose one of the following options:

  • Save: Save the Space and navigate to the Space you have created.

  • Save and add another: Save the current Space and create another.

Adding devices

We recommend adding devices using the Business app. By scanning the QR code on the back of the device, you can avoid manually entering the serial number and ID. Additionally, adding the device through the app ensures it receives the correct radio region settings for proper communication with the Hub.

If you want to use the dashboard to add devices, follow the procedure below.

After the space has been created, you can add your hubs and sensors. Spaces without any devices will display the option to add one: + Add device.

The next screen will present the option to add a serial number and Device ID. One space can support up to three devices at once.

If your space already has at least one sensor, you can add more by clicking the + in the top right corner of the screen.
